Kids Money — Terms and Data Notice

SCOPE OF THIS NOTICE. This service is operated by a private individual and is
shared with his own family and relatives. These terms have been reviewed by an
attorney FOR THAT USE ONLY. They have not been reviewed for general or public
distribution, and nothing here states that this service complies with COPPA or
any other law or regulation.

1. WHAT THIS SERVICE IS
Kids Money keeps a simple money ledger for your children: what they earned,
spent, saved, gave and invested. You create the records. We store them.

2. WHAT WE STORE ABOUT YOU
Your email address, your name, and the date you accepted these terms.
When you accept, we also record the IP address and browser you accepted from,
and which version of this document you saw.

3. WHAT WE STORE ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN
For each child: a name you choose, a short web address you choose, an
optional picture, and every money entry you add — its date, category,
description, notes and amount. We do not ask for a birth date, a school, an
address, or a photograph of a child unless you upload one yourself.

4. WHO CAN SEE A CHILD PAGE
Each child has a private page reached with a secret web address. ANYONE WHO
HAS THAT ADDRESS CAN SEE THAT CHILD LEDGER WITHOUT SIGNING IN. It is not
listed anywhere and it cannot be guessed, but it can be forwarded. Treat it
the way you would treat a key. Each child can also set a PIN for the page
they reach through your family address.

5. WHO ELSE CAN SEE YOUR FAMILY
The operator of this service can open a read-only view of any family in
order to provide support. Every time that happens it is recorded in a log
that records who looked, at which family, and when. That log is kept even
after a family is deleted.

6. GETTING YOUR DATA OUT
You can download everything in your family at any time, from your console,
as a machine-readable file. The file lists anything it leaves out and why.

7. DELETING YOUR FAMILY
You can delete your family from your console. Your family stops working
immediately: your console, every child page and every secret address stop
answering the moment you confirm.

The records are then permanently destroyed 30 days later. During
those 30 days the deletion can be reversed by contacting us.
After 30 days it cannot be reversed by anyone.

8. WHAT WE KEEP AFTER YOU DELETE
Two things are NOT deleted, and we want you to know before you decide:

  (a) THE RECORD THAT YOU ACCEPTED THESE TERMS. It contains your email
address, your IP address, the date, and which version you accepted.
  (b) THE SUPPORT-ACCESS LOG described in section 5. It contains your
      family name and web address.

We keep these because they are the evidence that you agreed to these terms
and that access to your family was accounted for. We keep them indefinitely.
Everything else — every money entry, every child, every balance, every
child page and your sign-in records — is destroyed.

9. WHO AGREES TO THIS
One adult accepts these terms: the person who was invited and who created
the family. We do not verify that that person is a parent or guardian of the
children in it, and there is no mechanism for a second parent to be recorded
or to be asked separately.

10. CHANGES
If this document changes, the version string above changes with it, and the
version you accepted is the one recorded against your account.

11. NO WARRANTY
This service is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. It is run by a
private individual as a personal project, not by a company. It may be changed
or discontinued at any time. It is not a bank and holds no money. Please keep
your own record of anything you would not want to lose.
